Dear Shiloh Family,

If I have learned one thing from Mom and Dad over the years, it’s the
adage that if you want to make lifetime friends…feed them. As a matter of
fact, they were simply emulating Jesus. When our Lord ministered on this
earth, he often fed them and met their needs before he preached to them.
It seems that the ladies of Shiloh understand that premise as well.

Matthew 14:15-16: 15 When it was evening, His disciples came to
Him, saying, "This is a deserted place, and the hour is already late.
Send the multitudes away, that they may go into the villages and
buy themselves food." 16 But Jesus said to them, "They do not need
to go away. You give them something to eat." NKJV

Last week, our Deacon’s wives, and several others loved folks over-the-
table, literally. Through two funerals, Homecoming, and men’s and women’s
Bible study, the team served over 400 people. Monica half-shouted, half-
wept as she related how God provided for each occasion. I am so proud and
eternally grateful for all who served in any capacity.

My heart was warmed as I observed the servants of Shiloh bring food,
pour drinks, take out the garbage, set up and break down tables and chairs,
sweep floors, and various unseen acts of love. Thank you for loving God and
loving people. What an incredible ministry!

I was also ecstatic when I was informed that you generously gave over
$1500.00 in love offerings to Brother Derik and Send Me Dog Ministries. I
am honored to serve with you all.

This Sunday, August 30, Mike Griffin, our GBC Public Affairs liaison with
the Capitol in Atlanta, will be speaking for us in both services. You don’t
want to miss him. Mike is always a blessing and an encourager.

Also, we will have a SALT (Staff and Leadership Team) meeting Sunday
evening at 4:00. All leaders should plan to attend. You are also invited if
you are interested in serving in any capacity at Shiloh.

Luke 22:18-19: 19 And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and
gave it to them, saying, "This is My body which is given for you; do
this in remembrance of Me." NKJV

Every meal should remind us of all Jesus gave.
