Dear Shiloh Family,

So, you think folks aren't listening? There were close to 100 FCA students ranging from K-5th grade. Several teachers were represented as well. I read the Christmas story and talked about how the birth of Jesus changed the world and how my life was transformed because of Him.

I know you won't believe it, but during the presentation, I got a little emotional. As I scanned the audience, reality overwhelmed me as to how many of the children and teachers alike had been affected by sadness and tragedy. I couldn't contain my tears as I related how Jesus was their only hope, joy, peace, and salvation, and how the source is unlimited.

After the meeting, one of our students approached me smiling and a bit giddy. "Derrell, one of my friends asked me if you were crying. I informed her you would be ok. I said, 'He is my Pastor. He does that all the time. He'll be fine'."

Isn't that hilarious? However, I thought about it heavily. When you think people, even children, are not paying attention - they are. They not only hear your words, more importantly, they read your emotions. Our actions really do speak louder than our words.

James 1:22-23: 22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. NKJV

This week, as we celebrate the greatest gift and most important baby ever born on this earth, let the world know; Christmas is more than a mere sentiment or holiday. In the church, family get togethers, workplace and in the streets, emanate Christmas and emulate Christ. I pray that the world sees true Christmas in us. Show them that our Lord and Savior really is the "Reason for the Season".

Merry Christmas to you and your families.

Please, remember Brother David Wilson in the passing of one of his dearest friends and close brother to many of us, Robbie Robertson. Pray as well for Robbie's family.

JESUS: Jesus - Eternal Salvation, Unlimited Source.

God bless you all,
Pastor Derrell
