Dear Shiloh Family,
Can you feel it? Its coming! In fact, by the time this letter posts, many of you may already be experiencing it. The air is heavy and the winds whisper of impending freshness and moisture. The baren earth crackles with deprivation and yearns for nourishment. Many appendages have prematurely fallen from dehydration. However, many cling to the branches in anticipation of rejuvenating God-water.
Psalm 63:1: 63 O God, you are my God; Early will I seek You; My soul thirsts for You; My flesh longs for You in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water. NKJV
You may think my inference is to the projected results of Hurricane Francis. But those of you who know me well, know that I seek a spiritual application to all life events. So, can you feel it? Its in the air at Shiloh. Every spiritual blade, branch, blossom, and bloom seems to be poised with open arms for a soaking and Holy Spirit God washing.
There is a ministry for all ages, and each ministry appears to be actively searching for Spirit anointing. The wind is electric with excitement and anticipation. The Ladies ministry had over 40 in their first night of Bible study. AWANA is having more than 60 kids and workers. Even our video announcements are filled with hints of up-and-coming opportunities. Yes, there may be some thunder and lightning, but faith and obedience will see us through. Our campus is alive on Wednesdays and Sundays, and something is going on most every day of the week.
Isaiah 44:3: 3 For I will pour water on him who is thirsty, And floods on the dry ground; I will pour My Spirit on your descendants, And My blessing on your offspring; NKJV
We are baptizing the next two weeks; last week, 13 babies were dedicated to the Lord; next week, we will worship with Rick Burgess and Man Church ministries. God is preparing us for showers of blessings. Lets make sure we are ready to drink it up.
I remind you that with ministry comes responsibility. Please, pray and obey the Lord in how he would have you support our ministries. Someone recently donated a new $1500 AED unit. What a blessing! We are so appreciative for all love gifts above your commanded weekly giving.
Our special event next week will be one of the largest worship events of our calendar year. Expenses will approach $5000, so all financial help will be cherished. I am convinced the ROI (Return on investment) will be astronomical.
Im asking each and every one to spread the word about what God is doing in and around Shiloh Baptist Church. However, everything we do begins with praise. Praise the Lord our God for all He is doing. I encourage you to praise, pray, fast, and oh yes, bring an umbrella. The rain is coming!
Matthew 7:7-8:7 "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. NKJV
Why try to put Gods blessings in a thimble? Bring a basket!
God bless you all,
Pastor Derrell
