Dear Shiloh Family,
One of the pleasantries of living in the south is the transitional days from Summer to Fall. Dog days of August surrender to the cool northern breezes and chilly mornings. Warm, humid, hazy, evenings bow to relaxing outdoor activities and incredible sunsets over Lookout Mountain. TVs are tuned to Thursday night football, high school stadiums roar on Fridays, and Saturdays regurgitate college gridiron greats.
However, for me, nothing ushers in the Fall season better than Homecoming at Shiloh. The mesh of family, food, and fellowship create an attitude of worship like no other. The music is always uplifting and filled with praise, the word of God comes alive in spiritual service, and the food is second to none. And this Sunday, along with dinner-on-the-grounds, we will participate in supper-in-the-hearts…The Lord’s Supper. Yes, we will be having Communion during the main service before we have homecoming meal in the FLC.
Please, support homecoming at Shiloh Baptist Church. Bring your family and friends to the 11:00 AM service. The homecoming experience is made possible when we all participate, so bring enough food for your family and one more. We will provide the meat, so prepare your favorite covered dishes. Most importantly, bring a heart prepared for worship. We hope to see you all this Sunday.
2 Corinthians 9:10-12: 10 Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness, 11 while you are enriched in everything for all liberality, which causes thanksgiving through us to God. NKJV
Spiritual fellowship is often initiated by physical food.
God bless you all,
Pastor Derrell
