Dear Shiloh Family,
It was the strangest phenomenon, and it wasnt just me that noticed. As most folks around me know, I am an avid hunter. I love studying the habits and tendencies of wildlife and the life lessons we learn through nature from the Great Creator.
During the recent extended drought, I observed unusual behavior in the local deer herds and other critters. Does (female), and bachelor groups of bucks (male) that were ordinarily nocturnal, were frequently feeding in groups in the middle of the day in places that they usually would not be seen. In fact, after we put supplemental feed in various feeders, trail cameras revealed animals flocking to the sites within an hour, even at midday. A strategically placed tub of water would spark even more boldness. Many of my friends were telling similar stories.
Psalm 42:1-2: As the deer pants for the water brooks, So pants my soul for You, O God. 2 My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God? NKJV
Consequently, after the rain, baren food plots that I had planted two months earlier began to sprout tender green sprigs that glowed like iridescent fingers reaching skyward in freedom. The fertile fields became succulent tables to all-comers. Dry, lifeless, wilderness became rich, lifegiving, ecosystems once again.
Have you noticed that people are flocking to Shiloh? They are coming through every ministry of your church. Did you ever stop to consider why? Its because they are in a spiritually dry, baren, and unproductive world. They are hungry and you are feeding themboth physically and spiritually. You are giving them love and Godly sustenance. And because of your efforts of love, the Holy Spirit is raining blessings on His people. New life is springing up daily in young and old, rich and poor.
Keep feeding, working, sowing and harvesting. Most importantly, keep praying for the water of the Spirit of God to continue to rain down on this place.
John 4:13-14: 13 Jesus answered and said to her, "Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, 14 but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life." NKJV
Promises of the world create empty vessels. Gods promises fill those vessels with His Spirit.
God bless you all,
Pastor Derrell
