Dear Shiloh Family,

All I have to do is whistle, and they will put their mane in the wind and tear up sod. They can’t get to me fast enough. However, last night, Josie and I were feeding the dog, shooting basketball and generally messing around the garage. I didn’t whistle, rattle a bucket, nor give a familiar call. Still, the thunder of hoofbeats reverberated off the ridge behind our house. The two steeds neighed and whinnied as they slid to a stop in front of the feeders.

Unfortunately, the feed barrel was empty and apples were unavailable. Faithfully, Rooster and Spirit lingered with anticipation. In fact, as long as we gave an occasional pat on the nose or scratch behind the ear, our equine friends leaned against the barbed wire fence with pleading eyes. They came with anticipation of being fed, but they were content with a small display of love.

1 Timothy 4:12-14: 12 Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity. 13 Till I come, give attention to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. NKJV

Our outreach program at Shiloh was phenomenal last year, and it is imperative we continue to invite folks in. However, it is more important that we feed them when they come. The word of God will encourage and promote growth in both young and old.

It is equally as important that the Shiloh family extend love and compassion to all who enter. The Bread of life will birth and nourish believers, and spiritual Godly love will connect and keep them.

Romans 12:6-8: 6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith; 7 or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching; 8 he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness. NKJV

As we move forward in 2026, I pray we all use the tools God has entrusted to us to reach the lost and love the saved.

The quality of the food is only realized on the plate of the consumer. And service often affects the quality.

God bless you all,
